The TÜRVAK Theater Museum first originated with the fact that a significant number of performers, who are considered to form the cadre of the Turkish Cinema, and the human resource of the first years of our cinema were of theatrical origin. This has been realized mainly with Darülbedayi and later on with Muhsin Ertuğrul, to be followed by creative cadres. Thus the "Performers of Theater Origin" section at the TÜRVAK Cinema Museum, was put into the service of art appreciators and has later been transformed into a museum with its gradually enriching archive.

In the museum one can find posters, brochures and photographs, signed wage vouchers, masks and play accessories, the Darülbedayi accessory chest which it used in its tours, tracts in the Ottoman and Turkish language, tickets and invitation cards of theater ensembles who performed on stage since the beginning of the Turkish Theater, having a past of 250 years. Moreover, there are samples of our traditional theater such as the Ortaoyunu (a special theatrical genre in Turkish Theater) Section, Hacivat-Karagöz characters of the Akbank Culture Collection, indoors and outdoors maquettes of the Darülbedayi Drama Theater, State Theater, stage costumes of performers like Altan Erbulak and Jeyan Tözüm, portraits of theater personalities both alive and deceased, siginificant sections having lighted the way for our theater history such as Muhsin Ertuğrul's, in which his personal belongings and special documents are being displayed. Muhsin Ertuğrul, had taken on a pioneering mission in assigning our cinema an institutional and academic identity as in our theater.
